Monumental Vintage Mid Century Modern

"Cityscape" King Canopy/ Four Poster Bed by Artist and Designer Paul Evans!

Circa 1970s

The entire exterior is an impressive mix of metal Chrome and brass inlaid patchwork. Fashioned in a manor to not only simulate a cityscape but also give hints of it in its reflection around the room as the light hits it from different angles.

Furniture as art!

There are also rails with hooks that can attach along the upper bars to hang privacy curtains as well!

Most common are the all chrome versions- this one, having the chrome and brass, gives much more depth and contrast and really showcases the design, imo… and in the King size with the mix of the two metals… an uncommon find.

Metal panels need polishing and some resetting in areas. Some rust and pitting consistent with age.

California King Vintage Mid Century Danish Modern Teak Platform Bed by Komfort. EMPRESS 702 model. Made in Denmark.

Maybe we've said it before, but this is our favorite Danish bed design!!

The long headboard profile is accentuated by the curved edge design that culminates in two stacked little drawers on each floating nightstand!

This is a pic of a queen size one that we had previously. I have yet to assemble and photograph the Cali King but I have some pics I can provide upon request!

The nightstands float within the long teak headboard. Each nightstand has a large lower shelf and a drawer with a sculpted teak pull. Very sleek design.

Mid Century - Danish - Post Modern

This is like the Rolls Royce of Danish Teak beds!

Made in Denmark by Kibaek Møbelfabrik (compare to Tørring, Dyrlund)

The quality of the craftsmanship and the thoughtfulness of the design are evident and compelling at first look!

The vintage teak wood has a gorgeous amber hue (slide 4 with the rock wall is a pic of the actual bed for sale).

Extremely sturdy and well made- this bed is remarkably simple to assemble and disassemble. No hardware needed, the pieces simply clip into place.

Now for the good stuff…

The headboard has hideaway headrests that are revealed when you flip the front panels on the headboard facade! The upholstery is a neutral beige and very soft while the cushion foam is firm and supportive.

ALSO- within the side rails of the bed are hidden tray tables! Simply pull the leather tab to raise the table. The tray can be folded inward toward the bed or you can fold it to the opposite side away from the bed as well. Perfect for breakfast in bed or even watching videos on your device or laptop!

Then when you’re ready to put the table away, simply press the teak button to release and fold it back into the side rail.

You’ll be feelin’ like frickin’ James Bond in this thing!

Just an awesome shape and design! Attached floating nightstands and a storage box/bench for the foot of the bed!
Each nightstand has one drawer as well. The bed also has open area under the bed as opposed to the more common danish platform beds which feature a box base so you can't slide things under the bed.
It has been very well cared for by one owner since purchased new over 30 vears ago!

Vintage Post Modern ELECTRIC BLUE Bedroom Set. Brilliant blue Formica on all sides with a black Formica banding. The design is very geometric and unique! The long rectangular cases appear to float above one another. Very Memphis/ pop art!

Vintage Mid Century Danish Modern QUEEN size Teak Platform bed by Komfort. This is one of our all time favorite vintage danish platform bed designs! I love the way the nightstands float and the top trim extends out across the headboard, curving forward to wrap each end resulting in a killer drawer configuration! Each side features two small stacked drawers and one long drawer with a lil cubby underneath.

This design is one of the more sought after danish bed designs- they always sell quick- and they don’t surface very often.

Queen size vintage Danish Modern Teak Platform bed with floating nightstands. Gorgeous swooping bedside rails and an exceptionally attractive headboard/nightstand design. Each floating nightstand has one drawer with a brass pull and a cubby below, perfect for books and such!
This one is very easy to assemble and dissemble as it doesn’t have any loose hardware. All the pieces easily slide together with brackets and clasps. The headboard is 3 pieces that clasp together.

This one is an unusual find with a very nice design! The headboard is a bit thicker than usual, about 3 inches with a nice tongue and groove pattern. The nightstands attach you the headboard which makes them appear to float! The platform fits a queen size mattress (no need for box spring).
Beautifully aged amber hued Teak throughout with minor age appropriate wear.
